It was just two short years ago that brothers-in-law Chris Cullen and Matt Pevic formed BloFli Pictures with one noble goal: Combine their efforts and know-how to provide Joe Moviegoer with the very best in quality entertainment, for little to no money. America is still waiting on the result.

BloFli Pictures now has:

• More than two (that's three!) short films completed and eagerly anticipating festival acceptance!
• One fabulous screenplay written and on the market!
Over half-a-dozen new and improved script ideas locked safely within the recesses of these altruistic co-creators' brains!

A Brief History:
BloFli Pictures was born in 1999 when Chris was in the shower. As Matt was categorizing his Karl Marx Historical materialism and Hegalian rebuttal note cards for a hopelessly complex novel on Socialism, he heard the phone a-ringin’. It was Chris!

“Matt!”
“Yeah?”
“I’ve got an idea!”
“Who is this?”
“This is Chris.”
“Cool! Tell me the idea, Chris, I’m eager to hear.”
“Hows’ about we write a screenplay about telepods?!!”

Matt liked the idea. He liked the idea very much.

Two years later, with a sci-frama (that’s science-fiction drama for those that care) screenplay under his belt, Chris bought his first JVC digital video camera. Matt, with the same screenplay under his own belt (titled Cloning the Soul), quickly followed suit and discovered that his home computer harnessed the power and technology to edit five minute movies. The duo never looked back.

“Blue,” BloFli Pictures’ first short film, was created in early 2001 as a five-minute short for a contest in a small DVD magazine. This film was completed within budget ($75), and surprisingly, before the deadline… actually just in time to witness the magazine go under. It was shot in and around Southern California with two low-end Mini-DV cameras and several shop lights from Home Depot. It was then mixed and edited on a Macintosh computer with iMovie, using Adobe Photoshop for the one special effect. Unfortunately, today’s modern audience is not adequately prepared for the genius that BloFli Pictures was able to subtlely infuse into its five-minute drama. Plus, marketing became a problem; the funding pool could not be directed toward festival fees. Not with a brand new screenplay in the kitty and a couple of new Sony VX 2000’s to buy.

Clean,” Blofli Pictures’ second short film, was created as a side project, as the BloFli boys became bogged down by costuming constraints for their period drama, “The Good Brother.” Written, directed, edited and starring the BloFli brothers, Clean was written as they filmed the movie. An ambitious project, involving over 20 different locations, the process would involve the two men, with their cast and crew, shooting on the weekends and editing during late weeknights. The half-hour movie was completed in less than six months. They were fortunate enough to wrangle a singer-songwriter from Seattle, Jill Cohn, into lending her time and music for the soundtrack. And on May 11, 2002 were given the opportunity to screen their movie at Miramax LA.

Currently, they are working on a new movie entitled "Swatura" which will star a brand new cast of actors and will be filmed in and around Redondo Beach, CA. They have decided to tackle the difficult task of bringing folklore to the silver screen, involving modern day gypsies and an intricate love triangle.
