THE FILM
It is the year 2013 and there is a growing problem due to overpopulation.
The world’s supply of resources, potable water in particular, has
dwindled to dangerously low levels. In the face of such numbers, civilization
now stands still. No progress. The suburbs have turned into cities. The
cities have turned into slums. The U.S. has dissolved into 33 different
countries who wage war with one another over water. Various state governments
and their militaries, in an effort to control their spiraling deficits,
have taken on corporate sponsorship. Corporations, in turn, have set up
detention camps to control and detain environmentalists who are resorting
to terrorist bombings to decrease the corporations might and the population
of the planet. The remaining extremists have taken to the supposedly inhospitable
deserts to establish a new, simplified way of life.
